Christmas 2008
This year we decided to take JaKelle and head up to Star Valley Wyoming and have Christmas at the Cabin. We have been promising her we would do this when all the boys were finished with Mesa High Basketball. We were sad to leave Jared and Lexi in Mesa, we missed them we had a chance to have our own little Christmas celebration with them before we left, thanks kids for your wonderful gift, and thanks for watching JJ for us. We flew into Utah on Monday and drove up to the cabin on Tuesday, it started to snow, and it didn't stop snowing the whole time we were there. There was a caravan of us, Lynn's parents, and his sister Karin, her husband Todd and their three kids, Mackenzee, Devin and Tyson.
Christmas Eve we had a real nice dinner Lynn's mom made and then we watched a movie about President Hinckley (so good). We played games opened 1 present and ate some more and ended with a spiritual message from Lynn's Dad reading in Luke of the Christ child's birth (still snowing).
We woke up to 15 inches of new snow it was so beautiful, Santa had come and we all enjoyed seeing what he had brought us all. Uncle Todd made us a awesome breakfast of french toast, eggs, and bacon.
We snarfed that down and got ready for our first Missionary phone call from Jesse. I got my tape recorded and questions ready and we put him on speaker phone for the whole family to hear. Yes it was wonderful to hear his voice and hear all of his wonderful experiences their in the Dominican Republic. He is loving it there and having many spiritual experiences. After hanging up with Jesse (very hard to do) we opened more presents. Before we new it it was 12 o'clock and time for our second missionary phone call. We talked to Josh for 1 hour and he sounded wonderful and very mature. I loved listening to him laugh and talk about his experiences of being the Branch President, teaching Relief Society, Sunday School, and talking in Sacrament Meeting. We are very excited to go pick Josh up in Costa Rica on February 16 and meet the people he has grown to love the past two years. They both send their love to everyone.
After our call we opened more presents (yes its still snowing). Thank you family for all of my gifts, I love them all and am so grateful for your thoughtfulness. I received some great gifts, but the best gift of all was being surrounded by family and talking to my two missionary sons. We missed you Jared and Lexi!!!
The rest of the day, we ate some more, visited, listened to Christmas music, watched the suns get beat by the spurs (again) and do nothing but sit and watch it snow. Thank you Todd for bringing up all the snowmobils and getting us unstuck or should I say Lynn unstuck most of the time
Lynn stuck again!
