San Diego Trip

This past weekend I went to San Diego with Lynn for his BKR Retreat. We stayed at the Torrey Pines Golf Resort, one of the famous golf courses where Tiger won the US Open in 2008. The first couple of days were cold and very windy, we toured parts of La Jolla and ate lunch at the Cheese Shop recommended by some friends, walking along the beach was cold and windy so we left. One of my favorite things we did was go to Miramar and eat dinner on the Base. We got to tour the Mig Jet's which was neat seeing them fly over head and also seeing the famous bar where Top Gun was filmed and he sang "You've Got that Lovin Feelin." They did hire a Tom Cruise impersonator and he did a really good job. I have such great respect for these young men and women serving many hours for our Country so we can have our freedom. Our guide was a Captain who's wife is also in the service and just got deployed to Afghanistan, my prayers and thoughts are withe all these families serving over there and ones left behind.

I loved the Lodge we stayed at, they always had a fire going and the whole place smelled like a burning fire, I will post some pictures of some of my favorite things inside the Lodge. The weekend was very relaxing and I finally did get to enjoy some sun on Tuesday.

The last day there Lynn and I got up early and went on a 4 mile hike down to the Ocean.

Tuesday Night we decided to order room service and watch the Suns game. I had this really good chicken dinner.

Lynn had this Seafood Soup, I couldn't watch him eat it, ewww.
