Five Years

Its hard to believe its been five years since I lost my Mom, sometimes I wish I could just pick up the phone and give her a call, she was always such a good listener and always had the right thing to say without ever judging or criticizing. Love and miss you Mom!

Thanksgiving 2010

This year we had Thanksgiving dinner at our home, with Lynn's brother's family (we missed you Chris). It was a wonderful day, a little cooler than usual so we moved it inside, Carrie made her wonderful pies and orange rolls with a awesome crab salad. I bought a fresh turkey this year and it tasted really good, so much better than those frozen ones. Chelsie planned some fun games, pin the hat on the turkey, Thanksgiving bingo and we did a craft making turkey leg hats, we stuffed ourselves then sat around and visited. Im so thankful for family, for those who live close to us and those who live far away, I miss you and love you all.

thankful for special memories...

This video brings back a lot of memories for me, when my kids were little one of their favorite videos to pull out for Christmas was the Disney's Very Merry Christmas Sing-A-Long. Just before Thanksgiving they would beg to watch it, it also brings back special memories of my sister Michelle, she would always call me and ask if I got out my Christmas sing-a-long yet, she loved to play it for her daughters. So when I listen to this it brings up many emotions for me, ones of my kids being little and listening to them sing the words that came up on the TV and special memories of my sister Michelle, thought I would share with you something that means so much to me.

thankful I found these cookies.....

Or maybe a mistake for someone like me who hasn't had sugar for awhile. I usually don't like any kind of cookie but homemade but these are one of the best cookies I've ever tasted. They have several different kinds but my favorite is the Chockie Bickie, a blend of two rich chocolates. So if your ever in AJ's you need to pick some of these yummy evil cookies up or go here.

I'm Thankful for Temples!

A groundbreaking ceremony for the Gilbert Arizona Temple will be held on Saturday, November 13, 2010, at 11:30 a.m. Elder Claudio R. M. Costa of the Presidency of the Seventy will preside at the ceremony. The temple is located on the southeast corner of Greenfield Road and Pecos Road in Gilbert.

The joint announcement of the Gila Valley Arizona Temple and Gilbert Arizona Temple on April 26, 2008, was the first temple announcement made by President Thomas S. Monson after he became president of the Church in February 2008.

The Gilbert Arizona Temple will become Arizona’s fourth operating temple. A fifth temple, the Phoenix Arizona Temple, was announced on May 24, 2008, and is still in the planning stages.

The Game of Things

After our family dinner on Sunday, Lexi and Jared brought over a game they wanted us to play, I've never heard of it, but it was a good one. It's called "Things" You draw a topic card and read it out loud, then the players write down their own responses, then the reader tries to figure out who said what! One of the questions was, "Name something you would like to wake up to in the morning" Lynn wrote the answer "Jason Beavers" Um dear, that would be Justin Bieber, no one had a hard time guessing who wrote it. Thanks Lynn for giving us a good laugh!!

Thanksgiving Daily

We should learn how to live in Thanksgiving daily. I'm so thankful I have the Gospel of Jesus Christ in my life and for a true prophet President Monson who leads and guides us. Im thankful for my family, for my children who bring me joy each and every single day. For my husband who is my best friend, who provides for our family and carries the big load he does in his church responsibilities. I'm thankful for great friends, who are always there for me, hopefully I can be better in giving thanks each day and realize how blessed I am.

"Follow the Son"

We had our Young Women Evening of Excellence on Wednesday, our theme was......

"Follow the Son"
Sunflowers always follow the sun,
From early morning, 'till the day is done,
They follow across the sky until night
eargerly soaking in the warth of its light.

Like this loyal flower we too can be
Fed by His light spiritually,
As we follow His son, Jesus Christ
Becoming like Him as we soak in His light.

In most any soil their seeds will grow
With plenty of water and sunshine galour,
Small buds soon appear, then the protecting leave
And thick stocks to support the head full of seeds.

We too can grow where we are sown,
By studying the scriptures and learning of home,
Our parents, teachers and leaders protect us
As our testimony grows stronger of our brother Jesus.

When the sunflower crown forms, it's a royal gold
The blessings of it's growth are beginning to show,
The seeds you share; love, kindness and testimony too
Will help others see the Golden Crown in you.

So follow the Son, open your heart to His light,
Seek Him first thing each morning and last one at night,
Follow Him through the heat of each day,
Live your life to become like Him - It's the only way.

The Young Women did an excellent job on their projects that they did, the piano solo that Ashlee did was beautiful, wish I could play the piano like her. I wish I would of taken more pictures but I did manage to get a few. It was also a Recognition Night for Kassandra, she received her YW Medallion, she sang a solo and did an amazing job, she has such a beautiful voice, these girls are so talented and are truly the BEST around. Im so grateful for the Young Women program and to see how it turns these beautiful girls into beautiful women, inside and out.

JaKelle made recipe books of our favorite family recipes.

and she made my moms famous fudge, she would be so proud of her.

I am thankful for...

by Nancie J. Carmody

...the mess to clean up after a party
because it means I have been surrounded by friends.
...the taxes I pay
because it means that I'm employed.
...the clothes that fit a little too snug
because it means I have enough to eat.
...my shadow who watches me work
because it means I am out in the sunshine.
...the spot I find at the far end of the parking lot
because it means I am capable of walking.
...all the complaining I hear about our government
because it means we have freedom of speech.
...that lady behind me in church who sings off key
because it means that I can hear.
...lawn that needs mowing, windows that need cleaning and gutters that need fixing
because it means I have a home.
...my huge heating bill
because it means that I am warm.
...weariness and aching muscles at the end of the day
because it means that I have been productive.
...the alarm that goes off in the early morning hours
because it means that I am alive.

Owl's - My New Obsession!

Soon to be part of our family, isn't he cute.

Mesa High Homecoming Dance 2010

JaKelle attended her first Mesa High Dance, she looked as beautiful as ever and had a great time. It was fun being able to go find a dress, getting her hair done and all that stuff us girls like to do. She had me pin the boutonniere on him and I stuck him pretty good, poor guy. I got a few pictures but hope to get some more from her date.

Kell, loved her dress

Love this one of her and her Dad.

Star Valley Cabin Trip "2010"

Our yearly October trip to the Cabin in Star Valley, thanks to my in-laws who let us come and stay there. We always have a fun time playing games, watching scary movies, eating out at our two favorites, Rocky Mountain Fish place, and House of Juan's Tacos. I loved spending time with my sisters and three of my nieces, its a time where we can bond and get to know each other all over again since I live away and don't get to see them much. Im so thankful for my family and love them very much, thank you for a great get away and making me laugh so much.
